About
Hello Adventurers! My name is Aaron, and I have been a DM/GM for the past 4 years. I am also a Certified Therapeutic Game Master. I believe tabletop role-playing games help promote a sense of belonging and can help an individual deepen their understanding of themselves. I enjoy running both therapeutic and non-therapeutic games because it gives me the chance to connect with awesome people and create a story with them.
In my non-therapeutic groups, I have created a world where one of the nations has a myriad of adventurer guilds. My players join a guild and then pick a "quest". That "quest" is the 1-shot adventure they participate in for their session. The benefit of this system is that it allows for flexibility if players cannot make it to every session. I have been using this system for the past two years. Otherwise, I have run campaigns based on surviving a tournament, discovering who murdered a king's son, and stopping an ancient evil from destroying an island. As for my DM/GM style, I am a "rules light" kind of DM/GM. This just means that I utilize the rules and mechanics of the game, but I do not want to get bogged down in looking up every rule if there is a dispute, so I will just make a decision that makes sense to me and move on. I work hard to try and be a "no, but" DM/GM which means if you purpose an idea that just won't work, I will say "no" but then follow up with, "but you could do/try...". My ultimate goal as a DM/GM is to create a space where each adventurer can engage with the story, their fellow adventurers, and themselves and walk away feeling like they belong to something amazing.
