About

"Bring the Archmage’s murderer to justice!"

V’aarnian In’drell–The Last Living Lord of House Drell, Lone Archmagus of Walsh, one of the few remaining survivors of the fall of V’raad and the Plague of Equals–is dead at at the age of 1,327, murdered less than two hours ago by his own sworn protector, a Warden of the City and proud Captain-in-Good-Standing of Black Mountain Security Services, one of the largest and most distinguished guilds in Walsh. The guild is in shambles, its reputation (and enormously valuable contract with the City) in serious jeopardy. Their rep is crying foul play and dark magic and demanding an investigation, the City is running its own “audit” but is concerned about the possibility of undue influence in the Wardens, and so the two parties, in hopes of resolving the incident with minimal damage, have put out a contract for a limited independent inquiry from an outside organization.

Somehow–through bribery, destiny, reputation, or sheer luck of the draw–that contract has fallen to your upstart adventurer's guild. You and your party of guilders, hungry for the gold, glory, and renown that will be yours if you can complete this contract, have 24 hours to figure out what really happened, clear the Captain’s name (or vote to convict him of the crime he committed in front of multiple witnesses), and bring the Archmage’s murderer to justice. Investigate the crime scene, interview witnesses, navigate powerful factions with conflicting interests, and explore the bustling city of Walsh as you track down leads and gather resources–use any means necessary to determine the GUILT OF THE GUILDER before time runs out.

Meet your Game Master.

Hello, I'm Alex. I've been running games for almost 20 years--mainly Dungeons and Dragons, but also Shadowrun, D20 Modern, Star Wars, Call of Cthulhu and others, plus lots of indie games like Dread and For the Queen. I'm also a teacher, voice actor, writer and producer of award-winning theater, films, and audio drama, so I love introducing new players to the hobby and I bring a sort of performance art, theater-kid flair - not too different from gaming shows like Critical Role or Dimension 20 - to every game I run.

My games tend to be full of high drama, big feelings, hard choices, and fast-paced, deadly action, with an emphasis on player collaboration and participation. Whether you're a TTRPG veteran or brand new to gaming, I'll make sure you have a fun, safe, and memorable time at the table. Let's play together!
