About

"Caution: Zombies. On the moon."

Imagine a future. Not our future. But a future that answers questions like: What if the space race never ended? What if we ended up with moon colonies that were well stocked by the use of a Teleco teleporter ferrying up an endless stream of earth junk to moon residents? What if, by some happenstance, that teleporter had a Y2K bug in it that only allowed tech from 1999 and before to make its way to the moon? What if soup arrived to everyone’s residence in a tube like those things at the bank drive thru via a soup utility provider? And finally, what if there were also... zombies?

Calling all guys, gals, script kitties, moon marshalls, and loonies, grab your Tamagotchis, Walkmans, and POGs, toss them in the oversized pockets of your JNCO jeans, and meet me on the moon!

You will be among the first to ever play MAX4: Moon Zombies! A d4 system game that’s out of this world. You might choose to play an archetype known as “The Guy,” A Bruce Campbell type, washed up B list action star. Or maybe you prefer to play a quick-witted hacker type known as a “Script Kitty,” bounty hunters or law enforcement agents called “Moon Marshalls,” or as a Psi powered “Looney,” who gained powers by spending too long in the moon mines. Either way, be prepared for weirdness, thinking outside the box, and being part of a story the little earth kids would never believe.

Alpha Test: Play Before It's Published

You will be helping TEST this game before it goes public. Being part of this session will also earn you an “Alpha Tester” thank you credit on the copyright page of the book! During the session, you will build a party, choose your gear, get acclimated to the moon, and set off on a short adventure together.

  • Game System: Max4 Moon Zombies RPG (this is a NEW game Alpha-test)

Game Master Will
Game Master Will

Will is a longtime GM (which his players say stands for Game Mom instead of Game Master) who loves making homebrew content like magic items for his former, long-running home games and for DM’s Guild. He's been playing TTRPGs like GURPS since the 90s but somehow has never run a premade module in his tenor as a forever GM, favoring playing in homebrew settings.

Will was the GM for the long-running D8Night Podcast, been a guest player on other actual play podcasts, and is a screenwriter and voice actor for the comedy web sci-fi series Escape Pod! His GM style is goofy, fun, and encourages good roleplaying in addition to tactical use of your character abilities. He has the most experience in D&D 2014 (since our home game finished before the 2024 rules) and GURPS 3rd edition (though it's been a minute). Will has also run games of Monster of the Week, Kids on Bikes, and others!

Game Details
