The year is 1987, the Satanic Panic has reached the peak of its grip on the world. All around the country mothers gather in their living rooms watching Jane Fonda in hopes that one day they will have the strength to keep the devil out of their kids' lives. They do the best they can; they ban their children from cartoons with magic, they confiscate their Walkmen after they find Black Sabbath cassette tapes, and most certainly they would NEVER allow their children anywhere near that horrible devil worshipping game of Dungeons and Dragons.

WARNING: baristas WILL be harmed in this one-shot

But little do they know that their children gather in dark corners hidden away from the light of the day. They roll polyhedrons and talk in funny voices while dressed in horrible outfits - all while rock music blasts in the background. The children think they are just playing and having fun, but little do they know they will soon accidentally summon a litany of devils to their corner of the Arcade.

Get your angled bob cut ready! Because when the devils come, which manager will you demand to see first?

Hello! I'm Kevin - a game designer who at one point was a Barista himself (so this setting comes with authenticity from the other side of the counter) I've been playing TTRPGs for about two years now, and I've found one shots are a great way to offer funny little ideas like this one. I hope you join in for a blast of 80s themed aesthetic, satanic panic, and of course enough 19 pump sugar free lattes to keep you energized for a whole session! (Sugar Free lattes not included)

Game Details

• Bring your character and mini or use ours for ease: you can create a Level 7 D&D 2024 compatible character built in D&D Beyond. Otherwise, pre-generated characters will also be available.

• Ticket is for all 1 session on the date/time listed above.

• When you create your character for this one-shot add as much flavor as you can to create a mom that will fit any and all of the mentioned stereotypes. The more over the top you imagine, the better! There will be a unique point system to reward roleplay that emphases the caricatures relating to the story, so come ready! While the story is set in 1987, you are welcome to reference any modern era you see fit for your character. The hope is to emphasize laughs and fun over historical accuracy.

What should I bring?

• One set of dice (though a hoard is never frowned upon)

• You can bring your own character sheet and mini. Otherwise, pre-made character sheets will be provided.

• Note-taking supplies (pencil or pen and notebook or paper)

• Anything else? We have a small physical storefront with dice, notebooks and other fun stuff we're sure you'll love. So, if you forget your dice, or find a set you fancy in our collection we will have some available for purchase.

Content Warnings

Every game, game runner and player is different. Please know it may be possible that some of the following subjects could arise during game play, through the game content or via the players. Such topics may include but are not limited to:

• strong language and cursing

• violence and blood

• character death

• stealing and illegal behavior

• heights and falling

• caves and claustrophobia

• Karens

• Yes. Karens. And for the Karens out there, this is intended to be a satire of the Satanic Panic, the 80s, and the "Karen" stereotype. No offense is intended at anyone in the story presented, but acting to bring out those caricatures will be encouraged. The game will involve devils, pentagrams, and the most horrifying of all: entitlement <shudder>

Possible physical warnings include but are not limited to:
