Dead Light (Call of Cthulhu)

Uncover horrific family secrets deep in Cthulhu Country.

A rainy Massachusetts night. A woman in distress. A flashing light. The Dead Light is a horror investigative one shot using the 7th Edition of the Call of Cthulhu System. It is May 1st, 1920, and your characters, a group of friends, are on a trip. Rest assured you will not make it to the destination. Put on your favorite trench coat and shoe that hopefully isn't too stuck with gum and be prepared to get stuck in the mire of 1920s era supernatural events. Not all of you will survive just a single night outside Arkham. The worst part is, you won't even be able to trust each other and eventually, you won't even be able to trust yourselves.

A Single One-Shot Game Session

This private session will be about 3 hours playing with one of our community Game Masters in the most immersive and private setting of Mythic Hall. You'll have plenty of one-on-one time with the Game Master and enjoy the times with your party of adventurers. Bring your party and friends or make new ones at the table.

I am Peter, a librarian, a scholar and a father. One of the facts I just told you is a lie. I have run TTRPGs for over 7 years, primarily DND 5e, CoC, and Delta Green. I am in the middle of an Impossible Landscapes and I really dig surreal horror. Check with me if you are unsure if Delta Green is right for you! I want everyone to have a great time. I am 'Stamps' on the Mythic Hall Discord.

Game Details

• You can create and bring your own character and mini. Otherwise, Pre-generated characters will be available.

• No experience necessary. We love teaching!

• Ticket is for all 1 session on the date/time listed above.

What should I bring?

• One set of dice (though a hoard is never frowned upon)

• Note-taking supplies (pencil or pen and notebook or paper)

• Anything else? We have a small physical storefront with dice, notebooks and other fun stuff we're sure you'll love. So, if you forget your dice, or find a set you fancy in our collection we will have some available for purchase.

Content Warnings

Every game, game runner and player is different. Please know it may be possible that some of the following subjects could arise during game play, through the game content or via the players. Such topics may include but are not limited to:

• strong language and cursing

• violence and blood

• character death

• stealing and illegal behavior

• mental health and suicide

• disintegration

• abortion / miscarriages horror  

Content Note: This game will depict graphic violence, suicide, murder, birth / body horror and disintegration. It will probably be tense. As with any game, we will use safety tools such as the X-card to ensure that everyone has a safe and inclusive good time. Call of Cthulhu uses a sanity system which will be handled respectfully. 

Possible physical warnings include but are not limited to:

• lighting effects and flashing

• audio effects and music

• video and animations

• smells

• fog/steam
