"Let's turn that thrifted item into your next fantasy costume."

Cosplay Thrift: How to Turn Thrifted Items into Your Next Cosplay

Whether you are trying to be environmentally friendly or are not yet confident in your sewing skills, thrifted items are a wonderful way to start in cosplay and give old items a brand new life! And a great way to cut costs in cosplay! This workshop will cover some of the different ways you can take an item you find secondhand and alter it to suit your cosplay needs! Feel free to bring some items you want to use in your cosplay and we can chat about ways to upcycle them!

Meet your Instructor.

Hope Maddox (@hopefulleedragons) is a local cosplayer, costume designer, dreamer, and adventurer who loves fantasy media and her cat, Sokka. Hope loves to create unique costumes that represent her favorite characters and honors her love for them. Characters like Vex, Imogen, and Jester from Critical Role, the Scarlet Witch from Marvel, pretty much all the cool Targaryen’s in Game of Thrones, and Original Jedi concepts for Star Wars. An avid fan of cons, ren faires, Halloween, and pretty much any excuse she can find to dress up; Hope has been so lucky to find such a positive and supportive environment with cosplay and wants everyone to join in on the fun!
